Sustain
EUGENE

A Sustainable Community is one that meets its present environmental, economic, and social needs without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs.

Building a Sustainable Community by Working Together

Our Goals

Achieving a Sustainable Community requires actions by individuals, households, businesses, schools, organizations, and governments to respond to resource and climate uncertainties.

This website is an informal online resource for the Citizens of Eugene to support these actions. It complements the City of Eugene's work on sustainability by providing:

  • Information about the energy and climate uncertainties we face.
  • Information about the work of the Eugene Sustainability Commission.
  • Ways for individuals and households to take actions that support sustainability.
  • Reports on how well we are doing as a City and Community with respect to changing our behavior to promote sustainability.
  • Information about what local businesses and organizations are doing to promote sustainability
  • Tips for taking actions that promote sustainability.
  • A Forum where you can suggest/discuss sustainability issues with your fellow citizens.
  • We are all in this together ...
